St. Anthony School Library

Welcome to the Library!

Every student who comes to the library is treated with the highest dignity as children of God. I believe in fostering an environment where each child feels valued, respected, and supported. The library is not just a place for books; it is a space for exploration and growth. I want every student to know that the library is their space to learn, think, create, and explore new ideas. It is a place where they can engage in thoughtful inquiry, discover new passions, and develop a lifelong love for learning. Additionally, the library offers a welcoming and safe environment where students can relax, collaborate with peers, and enjoy the company of friends. My goal is to ensure that every child feels a sense of belonging and inspiration every time they step into the library. I am especially proud to do so in our new beautiful library space.

About Mrs. Gutierrez:
Hello, my name is Erika Gutierrez, and I am the Librarian and the KA Aide. Our family has been a member of St. Anthony parish for almost 30 years. I have served as a Catechist of the Good Shepherd, in the Hispanic choir, and in Marriage and Baptismal Preparation. I have a background in Marketing and have been a private Spanish tutor for the past 12 years. I am passionate about children's education and am a lifelong learner. My beloved
Mexican heritage enriches my perspective and approach to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

I am married to my wonderful husband Mario, and our four children who each attended St. Anthony: Anasofia (24), Andrea (22), Mario (17), and Isabella (15). St. Anthony provided the foundation for them to attend Seattle Prep, and our two oldest are now Gonzaga graduates. Catholic education is very important to me. My passion is in nurturing every child's capacity for learning, curiosity, and desire to live in God's love.

It is an honor to serve at St. Anthony School. When I was growing up, my school library was like a calm refuge, a place where I found peace and inspiration, so I am thankful now to be able to provide that same experience to students today.
